We are currently recruiting for an experienced Design Manager to work on the exciting new HS2 Station - Old Oak Common. This role will provide the opportunity to work on a monumental part of the HS2 project!

Duties
* Manage and coordinate all design-related activities across architectural, structural, and MEP disciplines.
* Ensure that designs meet project specifications, building codes, regulations, and client requirements.
* Facilitate collaboration between architects, engineers, consultants, and contractors.
* Develop and monitor the design program in line with the overall project schedule.
* Identify design deliverables and ensure timely submission of drawings and documents. Plan design milestones and critical path activities.
* Liaise with clients, consultants, authorities, and internal teams to align on design intent and approvals.
* Organise and chair design meetings and workshops.
* Present design updates to stakeholders and resolve any conflicts.
* Identify design-related risks early and develop mitigation strategies.
* Monitor compliance with health & safety, sustainability, and building regulations.
* Work with estimators and quantity surveyors to ensure designs are cost-effective.
* Support value engineering exercises to reduce costs without compromising on quality.
* Review and approve design changes or variations.
* Ensure the design output aligns with quality standards and project specifications. Review and check design documents, drawings, and specifications for completeness and accuracy.
* Provide design clarifications during construction.
* Monitor design implementation on-site, addressing RFI (Request for Information) and shop drawing reviews.
* Ensure "As-Built" drawings and documentation are prepared.
Person Specification
* Design Management experience (Architecture/Build/Infrastructure/Urban Realm).
* Good communication skills.
* Degree within a related field would be beneficial.
* It would be beneficial if you have worked on a Joint Venture scheme.
