About the Role

Funding provided by Health and Care Research Wales supports NHS Research and Delivery (R&D) Departments led by a R&D Director to provide local services for research support and to facilitate the sponsoring and hosting of studies within UHBs across Wales. Part of this service includes a NHS research delivery team consisting of Research Nurses, Senior Research Officers, Research Officers and Administrators, employed by NHS organisations to support the delivery of high quality health and social care studies. An exciting opportunity has arisen within Cardiff and Vale University R&D for a Health Care Support Worker to become part of the research delivery team supporting research in Cardiff and Vale.

The Health Care Support Worker will support and facilitate the coordination of clinical trials, undertaking both clinical and administrative tasks that contribute to the daily running of the facility, the safety and care of clinical research participants, and assist the research staff with research activities under the supervision of the Research Delivery Management Team. The post holder will be based in the Clinical Research Facility within the University Hospital of Wales.

Applicants are invited to apply in Welsh. Any application submitted in Welsh will not be treated less favourably than an application made in English. The UHB reserves the right to close this vacancy after 24 hours if a large number of suitable applications are received. Therefore, we encourage early applications to ensure consideration for this post. Successful applicants will receive all recruitment related correspondence via the email account registered on the application form.

Eligibility & Working Conditions

To work in the UK, all candidates who are not UK or Republic of Ireland (RoI) nationals require sponsorship to obtain either a Health and Care visa or Skilled Worker visa, unless you have permission to work via another route. Non‑UK / RoI candidates wishing to apply should self‑assess the likelihood of obtaining a Certificate of Sponsorship by visiting Work in the UK. If you are eligible for the Health and Care visa, application costs are lower and you do not need to pay the annual Immigration Health Surcharge.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
