Cheshire West and Chester Council's DDAT department is looking to recruit an experienced and motivated Enterprise Architect to Act as lead specialist to translate the Council’s key corporate strategies and priorities into digital business change and technical delivery. The post holder will also set strategic direction and digital architecture principles for the Council and manage the architecture team to ensure effective design of all aspects of the council’s technology architecture (solutions, hosting, networks, security). Role responsibilities include:
* Lead, inspire and motivate the architectural service team and work as part of the Digital, Data and Technology service to drive innovation, provide leadership and support excellence.
* Ensure that the Enterprise Architecture, and standards, directly support the implementation of the Corporate, Digital and Data strategies.
* Develop and maintain the enterprise architecture vision, strategy, standards and roadmaps from a business, technology, and data perspective, including ‘as is’, ‘to be’ and transitional states.
* Lead and influence the delivery of cross-cutting digital capabilities that enable change.
* Understand the Council’s business and technology environment, and its interdependencies, to take a strategic view across all architectural domains, portfolios and programmes.
* Maintain excellent high-level ‘peer’ contacts and build and maintain strong collaborative relationships with internal and external suppliers to understand business activities and business drivers, business requirements and solutions strategies.
* Ensure the ongoing visibility, publicity and communication of the Enterprise Architecture both within the information community, and the business units.
* Work closely with the Data Insights Lead to ensure the Data Strategy and Architecture aligns to the overall Enterprise Architecture.
The ideal candidate will be educated to degree level or equivalent and have a post-graduate ICT/DDAT qualification and/or extensive professional experience of working in the ICT/DDAT industry. Extensive experience is needed in specifying progressive business application solutions and digital capability for a complex, multi-functional organisation; of delivering diverse management solutions to large numbers of end users; in architecting and implementing enterprise data solutions, master data management, data integration, BI & analytics, content management and data management platforms and of implementing technology strategies that align with business objectives. As this is a management role, experience in leading, inspiring, and developing teams is essential.
