Maxwell Consultancy are working with an established engineering business in Glasgow in their search for a Manufacturing Engineer. This is a full-time, permanent role working in their state of the art workshop.

The Role
The business is expanding their precision manufacturing / machining work and looking for someone who can blend hands‑on technical expertise with project delivery. You’ll work closely with our Production Manager to take projects from enquiry through to completion, ensuring quality, efficiency, and continuous improvement across the shop floor.
What You’ll Do

Estimate and budget incoming enquiries

Deliver projects to spec, schedule, and budget
*
Improve fabrication and workshop processes
*
Develop our machining and advanced manufacturing capability
*
Oversee welder training, coding, and certification
What You Bring
You’re a practical, proactive engineer with experience in manufacturing or engineering environments. You’re comfortable managing technical projects, coordinating across teams, and improving workshop processes.
Skills & Experience
*
Strong knowledge of TIG, MIG/MAG, orbital, and specialist welding
*
Experience with weld procedures, coding, inspection, and NDT
*
Understanding of materials behaviour during welding
*
Hands‑on workshop experience (welding stations, jigs, extraction)
*
Basic machining (milling, turning, drilling)
*
CAD/CAM and engineering drawing interpretation
*
Knowledge of fixturing, tooling, and work holding
*
Lean/continuous improvement mindset
*
Engineering degree or equivalent
BPSS clearance will be required.
