About the Opportunity
To lead and manage risk identification, assessment, and mitigation strategies across nuclear decommissioning programmes. The role ensures that commercial, operational, and regulatory risks are effectively managed to support safe, compliant, and cost-efficient delivery.
Other responsibilities:
1. Develop and implement risk management frameworks aligned with NDA and regulatory requirements.
2. Lead risk workshops and facilitate risk identification across multi-disciplinary teams.
3. Maintain and update risk registers, ensuring accurate reporting and escalation of key risks..
4. Support contract negotiation, change control, and dispute resolution.
5. Provide strategic advice on risk mitigation and contingency planning.
6. Support commercial and programme teams in quantifying and managing risk exposure.
7. Liaise with regulators, auditors, and stakeholders to ensure transparency and compliance
8. Integrate risk management into project lifecycle and investment decision-making
Qualifications
9. Proven experience in risk management within nuclear, infrastructure, or regulated sectors.
10. Strong understanding of risk assessment methodologies and tools (, Monte Carlo, bowtie analysis).
11. Familiarity with nuclear safety culture and regulatory frameworks (ONR, NDA, EA).
12. Relevant qualifications (, IRM, PMI-RMP, or equivalent).
13. Experience in nuclear decommissioning or legacy waste programmes.
14. Knowledge of commercial risk and contract risk allocation (, NEC3/4).
15. Ability to influence senior stakeholders and drive risk-informed decision-making.
16. Proficiency in risk management software (, ARM, Primavera Risk Analysis).
