Job Title: Cover Supervisor Location: North Yorkshire Salary: £100 – £120 per day (depending on experience) Start Date: Immediate Contract Type: Day-to-day / Long Term, Full-time / Part-time Are you a confident and adaptable individual interested in supporting students within a school setting? GSL Education are currently recruiting enthusiastic and dependable Cover Supervisors to work in schools across North Yorkshire. This exciting role involves supervising classes during teacher absences and ensuring students remain engaged with their learning by completing pre-planned work. The successful candidate will help maintain positive classroom behaviour while supporting students in a structured and productive environment. Responsibilities of a Cover Supervisor: Supervise classes in the absence of the regular teacher Deliver pre-set work and ensure students stay on task Maintain classroom discipline in line with school policies Support students with classroom activities when required Encourage positive behaviour and participation in lessons Provide feedback to teaching staff regarding student engagement and behaviour Follow safeguarding and school procedures at all times Work collaboratively with teachers and school staff Requirements of a Cover Supervisor: Previous experience working with young people is desirable Strong communication and classroom management skills Confident, organised, and adaptable approach Ability to motivate and engage students effectively Degree or school-based experience is advantageous Passion for education and supporting young learners An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply) Please be advised that this role requires a strong knowledge and understanding of safeguarding and child protection, and successful applicants must satisfy all background safer recruitment checks, including providing an enhanced DBS certificate registered on the update service or completing a new application.
