Role Overview

The Service Desk Engineer will be responsible for delivering first-line technical support to users across the organisation. This role plays a vital part in maintaining high service standards and ensuring swift, effective resolution of IT issues.

Key Responsibilities

* Provide first-line support via email and telephone, resolving IT queries promptly and professionally
* Diagnose and troubleshoot desktop and laptop issues (Windows 11, Dell, Microsoft Surface Pro)
* Onboard and support new starters, including IT hardware and software setup and running inductions
* Administer and support Microsoft Office 365 applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.) and Exchange Online
* Manage and support mobile devices (Apple iOS and Android) via Intune MDM platform
* Provide basic networking support (TCP/IP topologies)
* Collaborate with colleagues to ensure seamless IT operations and excellent customer service

Technical Expertise:

* Windows 11 and Windows Server environments
* Microsoft 365 (Exchange Online, Office suite)
* Microsoft Azure (including Azure Virtual Desktop)
* Networking fundamentals (TCP/IP)
* Endpoint protection technologies
* Virtualisation (Hyper-V)
* Telephone system technologies
* Knowledge of HTML/CSS
* Routers, firewalls
* Microsoft SQL
