A growing and well-established independent firm of Chartered Accountants is looking for an Audit Semi-Senior or Senior to join their expanding audit team. This is a fantastic opportunity to work with a diverse portfolio of clients across sectors such as engineering, automotive, hospitality, property management, and manufacturing, with turnovers ranging from small businesses to over £145 million.
About the Role:
Based primarily in the Walsall office, you’ll be involved in preparing accounts and VAT returns, conducting audits, and building strong client relationships. You’ll also have the opportunity to travel to client sites across the Midlands and occasionally further afield.
Key Responsibilities:
* Assist in leading audits from planning to completion
* Conduct on-site audit work and prepare comprehensive documentation
* Supervise and mentor junior audit staff
* Review junior team members’ work and provide feedback
* Act as the main point of contact for clients during audits
* Identify audit risks and propose effective solutions
* Support the preparation of audit reports and presentations for clients
About You:
* ACA/ACCA qualified, part-qualified, or qualified by experience (QBE)
* Minimum 3 years of audit experience
* Strong understanding of accounting standards and double-entry bookkeeping
* Proficient in software such as CCH, TaxCalc, Sage, VT, QuickBooks, Xero, and Excel
* Excellent communication and client-facing skills
