Job Summary
Lead and manage the MLBU, ensuring high‑quality, safe, and compassionate maternity care. Provide direct patient care, support the implementation of Care Group service plans, and foster a culture of innovation, collaboration and continuous improvement across the intrapartum service.
Main Duties
* Provide professional leadership and operational management within the MLBU.
* Accountable for the standards of care, supporting and implementing practice.
* Deliver direct patient care, demonstrating advanced mid‑wifery knowledge and expertise.
* Act as a role model and resource for the clinical team.
* Champion the NNUH PRIDE values and an inclusive culture.
Person Specification
Essential Qualifications
* Registered Midwife.
* Degree level (or working towards a relevant degree) or equivalent experience.
* Practice Assessor or equivalent mentoring qualification.
* Significant post‑registration Band 6 experience.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Effective change‑management and leadership abilities.Demonstrated role‑model behaviour aligned with NNUH PRIDE values.
Desirable Qualifications
* Management qualification or evidence of management development.
