About the Role
As an Associate Underwriter, you'll be immersed in the fascinating world of energy risk, supporting our experienced underwriters in evaluating and managing a diverse portfolio of power generation and utility assets. From conventional power plants to cutting-edge renewable energy facilities, you'll gain invaluable insights into how the insurance industry supports global energy infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
1. Support service excellence by assisting the Power & Utilities Underwriting team in delivering high-quality service to brokers and clients
2. Process transactions efficiently, handling new business, renewals, endorsements, quotes and declinatures
3. Maintain data integrity by ensuring accurate and timely recording of underwriting information in our systems
4. Conduct research and assist with pre-underwriting activities, including information gathering, risk summaries and basic exposure analysis
5. Develop technical knowledge of Power & Utilities risks across conventional power generation, renewable energy, and transmission/distribution assets
6. Review core coverages such as Property Damage, Business Interruption and Construction-related exposures under expert supervision
7. Collaborate across functions by liaising with internal stakeholders including Risk Engineering, Claims, Actuarial, Operations and Finance teams
8. Participate in client engagement by supporting broker and client meetings, preparing materials and managing follow-up actions
9. Ensure compliance by working in accordance with underwriting guidelines, governance standards and ESG-related frameworks
10. Support portfolio management by contributing to monitoring activities, including tracking capacity deployment, pricing and aggregation

Our company has a hybrid work model where the expectation is that you will be in the office at least three days per week.
For London the annual base salary range for this position is between GBP 44 000 and GBP 66 000 (for a full-time role). The specific salary offered considers:
