About the role:
Reports to the Financial Reporting Manager
The Real Assets team works closely with clients to support investments into the development and rental / sale of residential, senior residential and student accommodation, as well as commercial and retail space across the UK.
In this role, you will work within a small team of Accountants, assisting with the routine day-to-day accounting of fund structures under the direction of a Financial Reporting Manager.
What you'll be doing
* Maintaining accurate accounting records, including the preparation of routine journal entries, inputting invoices and assisting with payment processing in Yardi, eFront or RealPage
* Developing an understanding of the clients and industry, supporting the team in providing bespoke reporting within agreed deadlines to meet client needs
* Responsibility for routine deliverables such as monthly and quarterly bank reconciliations, including sourcing supporting documentation to evidence transactions
* Working with a small team of accountants, assisting with the preparation of management accounts and financial statements under IFRS, UK GAAP and / or Lux GAAP
* Assist with the completion of routine audit queries
* Assist in the preparation of VAT returns
* Assist and support the induction, integration and training of trainee staff, including some level of delegation and support to junior colleagues on an ongoing basis
Skills, knowledge, expertise:
* The candidate will be expected to be studying towards a relevant professional qualification (preferably having commenced ACCA Fundamental Skills level, ACA Professional level)
* Experience in either management accounting and / or financial statements preparation is essential
* Proficient computer literacy skills and ability to learn new systems
* Confident and clear communication skills, both written and spoken
* Good problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
* Ability to work to deadlines and balance study alongside work
* A collaborative team player with a proactive approach
