Overview
Hull City Council is seeking an experienced Safeguarding Officer to help ensure the safety, wellbeing, and educational entitlement of children and young people accessing alternative provision.
Responsibilities
* Monitor safeguarding practice across all Local Authority-commissioned alternative provision, carrying out audits to ensure compliance with Ofsted frameworks and statutory guidance.
* Act as the lead link between providers, families, and external agencies, ensuring concerns are addressed quickly and children receive safe, inclusive, and high-quality education.
* Deliver safeguarding training to groups and individual settings, supporting continuous improvement and strong safeguarding cultures.
Qualifications and Requirements
* Solid safeguarding knowledge.
* A qualification in health and safety or willingness to work towards one.
* A passion for improving outcomes for vulnerable young people.
* Disability Confident status (as applicable).
