You will join us on a full-time basis as part of an initial 1-year fixed term contract with a view to progressing into a permanent role. In return, you will receive a competitive salary of £28,050 - £33,000 per annum depending on experience. The role will be required you to be in office. As Copywriting and Editorial Officer, the successful candidate will play an integral role in supporting Human Appeal’s Global Communications department in delivering impactful, faith-rooted content across campaigns and platforms. This includes social media, donor reports, beneficiary case stories, and video scripts. You’ll help create content that is warm, sincere, and engaging—resonating with our diverse donor base and reflecting our values as a faith-based organisation. Key duties and responsibilities of the Copywriting and Editorial Officer: Write, edit, and proofread engaging copy for various platforms including social media, email campaigns, donor reports, web, print, and video scripts. Ensure all content is accurate, compelling, and in line with Human Appeal’s tone of voice—warm, sincere, faith-inspired, and impact-driven. Provide light administrative support, as required, particularly during busy periods, including sourcing imagery, coordinating with teams, and updating content trackers or Asana boards. Collaborate with colleagues across campaigns, creative, and regional teams to deliver compelling content for both UK and international audiences. Conduct background research on causes, appeals, and field projects to inform content with authentic and relevant details. Contribute to content planning and support ad hoc creative requests from across the department. What we’re looking for in our Copywriting and Editorial Officer: Ideally Degree-educated in a relevant field Minimum 2 years’ experience in a copywriting, content creation, or editorial role — ideally within the charity, development, or communications sector. MS Office Suite Fluent written and spoken English is essential.
