About the Role
Reporting to the Principal BMS Engineer, the BMS Engineering Technician is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and servicing of the campus-wide Building Management Systems (BMS) and the associated electrical and mechanical equipment.
The successful candidate will work flexibly as part of the BMS team—and the wider Building Services team—to provide specialist support that maximises energy savings without compromising the ability of faculties and departments to deliver high-quality, customer-focused services.
The successful candidate will also contribute to energy-efficiency projects by integrating new and emerging technologies in support of the University's drive toward a zero-carbon campus.
About the Candidate
The successful candidate will have an electrical or mechanical background, with experience of building management systems and a willingness to expand their knowledge further. They should demonstrate a solid understanding of HVAC and HVAC controls, along with strong computer and problem-solving skills.
Excellent oral and written communication skills are essential, as the role requires explaining technical issues in a clear and appropriate manner. An interest in emerging technologies and energy-saving innovations would be advantageous.
