AWS Solution Architect - Remote (applicants must be UK based) - £100,000 DoE
An innovative and fast-growing organisation is seeking an experienced Principal Solutions Architect specialising in AWS and hybrid cloud. This advanced, client-facing role is pivotal in shaping and delivering scalable, modern cloud architectures for enterprise clients across global markets.
The role reports directly to senior technology leadership and involves leading architectural engagements, conducting technical assessments, and supporting both pre-sales and post-sales activities. Close collaboration with delivery, sales, and product teams is essential to ensure high-quality solutions and long-term customer success.
Key Responsibilities
* Take ownership of designing and guiding AWS and hybrid cloud solutions, delivering both high-level strategy and hands-on architectural guidance to clients.
* Lead collaborative sessions such as architecture assessments, brainstorming workshops, and strategic planning discussions to shape clients’ cloud direction.
* Drive customer enablement by validating solutions, leading proof-of-concept efforts, and creating roadmaps for successful workload migration.
* Deliver high-quality architecture reviews, design blueprints, and solution documentation grounded in industry standards and cloud best practices.
* Work closely with sales and solution engineering teams to support opportunity development, including contributions to bids, proposals, and technical scoping.
* Create and maintain a library of standardised tools and frameworks, including reusable templates, migration approaches, and technical playbooks.
* Advocate for design excellence by embedding principles of security, scalability, performance, efficiency, and cost control in all architectural recommendations.
* Keep pace with the evolving AWS ecosystem and maintain strong awareness of hybrid and multi-cloud integration techniques.
* Foster strong, long-term partnerships with customer stakeholders, positioning yourself as a trusted technical adviser throughout their cloud journey.
Required Qualifications
Certifications:
* Must hold AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate.
* Plus one of the following: AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional or any AWS Specialty certification (e.g., Security, DevOps, Advanced Networking).
Experience:
* Minimum of 3 years in customer-facing architecture or consulting roles.
* Proven ability to design and implement solutions across AWS and hybrid environments.
Skills:
* Strong foundation in core AWS services: compute, networking, security, storage, identity, and automation.
* Expertise in cloud-native application architectures, cloud governance, and migration strategies.
* Excellent stakeholder management skills.
* Capable of managing multiple projects with minimal supervision.
* Skilled in technical documentation, whiteboarding, and proposal development.
Desired Qualifications
* Knowledge of other cloud and hybrid platforms such as Azure or VMware.
* Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform or AWS CloudFormation.
* Understanding of regulatory and compliance frameworks.
* Experience mentoring or guiding junior technical team members.
