Are you a caring and compassionate, looking for a fresh or new opportunity? Why not come and work for CWP - we may have just the role for you. We have a full time Clinical Support Worker vacancy within our CHEDS service, Ancora House.
A clinical support worker with a specialist interest in working with young people with eating disorders will be part of the CHEDS team and will have a key role to play in assisting young people in their recovery.
We are based at Ancora House (Countess of Chester Hospital site) which is an in-patient child and adolescent mental health service, consisting of 26 beds, split across two wards: Coral and Indigo. The service also works very closely with locality ED community teams within the CAMHS teams within CWP and Merseyside. The main aim of the work is to reduce and prevent hospital admission to either a paediatric ward, tier 4 CAMHS unit or a specialist eating disorder unit.
This a full-time role, 37.5 hours per week. Please note this vacancy may close early if a high number of applications are received.
The Trust currently supports the Real Living Wage (RLW) hourly rate as set by the Living Wage Federation and will apply a pay supplement if the national A4C hourly rate falls below this.
Main duties of the job
Clinical Support Workers will be required to develop and promote a therapeutic relationship with service users and will be key in the day to day running of the service. This includes (but is not limited to) practical meal support and therapeutic group delivery.
You will work under the direct supervision of a registered nurse and will be expected to assist on all aspects and duties expected in a clinical ward environment. Assist in procedures relating to individualised total patient care, under the direct supervision of a primary nurse. Carry out other duties identified/designed by senior staff that relate to the needs, changes and demands of the service and patient care.

Person specification
Qualifications
Essential criteria
* Appropriate Mental Health related qualification, or willingness to complete an apprenticeship appropriate to the Clinical Support Worker role.
* Will work towards the appropriate mental health related NVQ level 3 once in post or equivalent experience
* To demonstrate a range of work procedures and practices and to exhibit your knowledge and abilities
* Completion of or commitment to complete the Care Certificate (CWP In-house 2 day training to be completed within 3 months of start date)
Desirable criteria
* Qualifications in Health and Social Care or other related disciplines
Knowledge and Expertise
Essential criteria
* Understanding of CWP, inclusive of Mental health services and the key role the Trust has within the health economy
* An understanding of confidentiality issues how they relate to mental health policy and practice interventions.
* Knowledge of CWP observation policy (policy found on CWP website)
Desirable criteria
* Knowledge of mental health legislation and policies.
Experience
Essential criteria
* The ability to demonstrate good quality care, whilst adhering to Trust policies and procedures, and working towards completing Care Certificate.
* Experience of working collaboratively i.e. with colleagues, wider teams service users etc
* Supporting others in a care setting, whether this is experience in a professional or lived experience (friend, family, voluntary etc.)
Desirable criteria
* Previous experience of working with adults with severe mental health needs
