Rowena Garden Centre is back under original family ownership after 25 years. With plans to double the size of the centre and restaurant over the coming years, we are now looking for an experienced head chef to lead our team.
The restaurant will become the heart of our garden centre, and we are looking for someone with passion and enthusiasm to lead our team.
Responsibilities
* Planning and designing exciting new menus, including sourcing ingredients
* Oversee and direct the food preparation process, ensuring high quality and consistency
* Ensure that dishes are prepared on time, maintaining high quality and presentation standards
* Approve dishes before the leave the kitchen to ensure that they meet impeccable standards.
* Recruit train and manage kitchen staff, ensuring that the team is skilled and motivated
* Uphold the highest levels of food safety and hygiene standards and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations
* Assist the Restaurant Manager in controlling stock, minimising wastage and working within the budget
About You
* Extensive hands on kitchen experience with high standards of service and food presentation
* Creative flair and up to date industry knowledge for producing and pricing menus
* A passion for food and ingredients used in your dishes
* Excellent organisational and time management skills
* Ability to lead and motivate a team in a fast paced environment
* Strong understanding of food hygiene and health and safety regulations
