About The Role
The Scottish Government has provided the SSSC with a grant to support the social services workforce in Scotland to increase understanding of their role in cyber-security and in protecting the security of systems used in care services. The SSSC aims to help employers understand cyber risks and build resilience into their business plans.
We want to appoint an exceptional individual to lead this work in 2025-26, responsible for:
* Increasing cyber resilience awareness across the SSSC and embedding it in strategic planning
* Integrating cyber resilience into social services learning and development
* Enhancing senior managers' awareness of cyber risks and mitigation strategies
* Enabling social service workers to practice online safely and securely
* Supporting service users and carers to engage online securely
* Raising the profile of social service sector cyber resilience needs nationally
Who We Are
The SSSC is the independent regulator for social service workers in Scotland, ensuring a trusted, skilled, and confident workforce for social work, social care, and children and young people’s services. We register workers, set standards, and support professional development, investigating and acting when standards are not met.
What You Need To Succeed
* A degree or equivalent in social work, childhood practice, education, organizational development, or related fields
* Understanding of policy and legislative developments in Scotland and the UK regarding cyber resilience
* Knowledge of strategies and practices for safe online engagement
* Ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical audiences
* Working knowledge of social services
* Understanding of workforce development and operational demands
* Experience in collaborative working across different settings
