Balfour Beatty Power Transmission & Distribution - Document Controller
We have an exciting opportunity for a Document Controller to join our team in South East England. The role involves working across two projects, with one remote and the other requiring occasional site presence. The position offers a hybrid working arrangement: 3 days onsite and 2 days remote.
Role purpose: To manage and control all project document flow, ensuring accurate registration, revision, resubmission, and storage of all project documentation. The role requires liaising with site teams, design teams, subcontractors, customers, external suppliers, and work-winning staff. Responsibilities include QA checking documents prior to submission and archiving project documentation post-completion. Additionally, to provide expertise and coaching on documentation control systems to relevant teams and subcontractors.
What you'll be doing
1. Managing document control requirements to ensure compliance with established standards within the Business Management System (BMS).
2. Identifying contractual requirements related to document control.
3. Controlling documentation from pre-construction through to completion and archiving.
4. Liaising with project teams to ensure understanding of document control procedures and providing training as needed.
5. Implementing procedures to meet BMS and other documentation system requirements.
6. Managing business archiving for efficient storage and easy access.
7. Continuously improving document control procedures and systems.
8. Providing feedback to project managers regarding documentation issues.
9. Understanding and implementing ISO19650 standards.
10. Supporting the compilation of H&S files.
11. Living the Balfour Beatty Values and ensuring a focus on Zero Harm.
12. Understanding IT systems and EDMS used in document control.
13. Demonstrating good experience in document control and understanding of BIM.
14. Collaborating effectively with other departments for optimal outcomes.
15. Exercising excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
16. Planning, organizing, and completing tasks with determination.
17. Coordinating the work of others.
