Claims Analyst
Leeds - Hybrid (2 days a week in the office)
18 Month Fixed Term Contract
DLG is evolving. Across every part of our business, we're embracing innovation and putting customers at the heart of everything we do. Join us and you'll not only be recognised for your skills, you'll be empowered to grow them, make a real impact, and shape the future of insurance analytics.
We're looking for a Claims Insight Analyst to join our Motor Claims team - someone who thrives on problem‑solving, challenges assumptions, and can turn complex data into meaningful, actionable insight.
DLG spend close to £2 billion annually on Motor Claims. Your analysis will directly influence how we understand this spend, optimise operational performance, anticipate future trends, and make smarter decisions that improve customer outcomes and strengthen commercial performance.
This isn't just a reporting role. It's about storytelling with data - connecting dots, uncovering opportunities, and shaping strategy across the largest cost base in our business.
What You'll Be Doing
* Deliver accurate, timely and commercially focused MI across key financial and operational metrics within Motor Claims.
* Partner with stakeholders to design and deliver high‑quality insight and KPIs that support strategic, operational, and commercial decision‑making.
* Provide forecasting and trend analysis on major cost drivers, including indemnity spend, revenue opportunities, and operational efficiency/efficacy.
* Support both business-as-usual and strategic change initiatives with robust data analysis and insight.
* Identify opportunities to automate, streamline and modernise MI to enhance efficiency and relevance.
* Translate complex analysis into clear, compelling narratives that influence senior stakeholders, drive action and outcomes.
* Champion the use of data and insight across the Motor Claims function, promoting a culture of evidence‑based decision making.
What We're Looking For
You'll be a self‑starter with natural curiosity, strong analytical thinking, and an enthusiasm for solving problems. We want someone who not only analyses data but actively shapes the questions we ask and the opportunities we pursue. We're looking for:
* A curious and analytical mindset with a passion for turning data into insight.
* Some experience in data analysis, with the ability to interpret and communicate complex information clearly to non‑technical audiences.
* Proficiency (or developing proficiency) in SQL, along with familiarity with data visualisation tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or similar.
* Someone who challenges the status quo, brings fresh thinking, and proactively identifies opportunities for improvement.
* The ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast‑paced and evolving environment.
* Recent graduates with strong analytical capability and a drive to build a career in analytics are encouraged to apply.
