Position Overview
This position is within the Boeing Global Services (BGS) EASA Modifications team based in Frimley, Surrey (UK). The team is a global organization holding EASA (and GCAA) part 21 Design Organisation Approval (DOA), offering EASA-approved modifications worldwide. Our team comprises highly skilled engineers, Program Managers, and support staff.
The candidate will assist with developing customer aircraft modification proposals mainly involving aircraft cabin electrical systems, IFE, connectivity, and avionics systems. You will interface with Engineering, Purchasing, Program Management, Sales, and Contracts teams. Initially, support and mentoring will be provided by colleagues within the team.
This is a fast-paced role requiring effective workload management and deadline adherence. Strong communication skills across all levels, proficiency in MS Office, and experience in generating technical documentation and proposals with cost and schedule estimates are essential. The role demands integrity, responsibility, and pride in work and teamwork.
Responsibilities
* Review Customer requests for proposals (RFPs) within the Boeing EASA proposal team.
* Collaborate with stakeholders to decide on 'bid' or 'no bid' based on capability, capacity, and strategy.
* Assist in developing modification requirements with Customers and Sales.
* Research and develop statements of work and bills of materials using Boeing systems and customer data.
* Identify risks and mitigation strategies.
* Establish assumptions and limitations based on proposal scope and information.
* Work with departments to collate and confirm task hours.
* Compile information into proposal estimate sheets and obtain sign-off.
* Support tracking of active RFPs.
* Assist in handover meetings to Program Management and Customer Kick-offs to clarify scope and budgets.
* Travel domestically and/or internationally as required.
Minimum Knowledge/Experience
* At least 5 years of experience in aviation/aerospace or related industries.
* Knowledge of EASA CS25 requirements relevant to aircraft electrical/avionic/IFE systems.
* Understanding of aircraft systems, including IFE/Connectivity and avionics.
* Experience with commercial aircraft interiors (highly desirable).
* Experience working within an EASA Part 21J design organization (beneficial).
Education
* Recognized aeronautical or engineering degree, or equivalent qualifications based on experience.
* Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
