We are working with a well-regarded Secondary School in Colchester that is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Unqualified English Teacher to join its English department. This school is committed to providing a high-quality education and supporting aspiring educators who are passionate about making a positive impact on students' learning and development.
Job Overview:
* Full-time, Monday - Friday Unqualified English Teacher role.
* Deliver pre-planned and supported English lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4.
* Support students in developing their reading, writing, speaking, and analytical skills.
* Create an engaging and positive classroom environment that promotes learning.
* Adapt learning activities to meet the needs of students of varying abilities.
* Monitor student progress and provide feedback to support achievement.
* Manage classroom behaviour in line with school policies and expectations.
* Work closely with experienced teachers, department leaders, and support staff.
* Contribute to the wider school community and enrichment opportunities.

What We're Looking For:
* A degree in English, English Literature, Creative Writing, Journalism, or a related subject is desirable.
* Experience working with young people in an educational, tutoring, coaching, mentoring, or youth work setting.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
* A passion for English and helping students achieve their potential.
* Confidence managing groups of students and maintaining positive classroom behaviour.
* A proactive, professional, and enthusiastic approach.
* Excellent organisational and time management skills.
* Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).
