Overview
Area Manager role with TGJones. Based in London/Home Counties, field-based across the London/Home Counties High Street region. You will lead a team of around 9/10 Cluster Managers to deliver the High Street Plan and support TGJones becoming the UK’s number one Stationer, Bookseller and Newsagent.
Responsibilities
* Lead, coach and develop your cluster management team to achieve financial and operational targets.
* Deliver long-term profitable sales growth and protect assets by ensuring compliance with legal, health and safety requirements across all clusters.
* Collaborate with Regional Sales and Operations Managers, Head Office specialist teams and other stakeholders to drive performance.
* Provide clear and meaningful feedback to stakeholders and the wider business to support growth and development through the Retail 3 Lenses.
* Shape region culture, energise teams, and foster pride across the area while supporting future growth.
About you / Qualifications
* Previous multi-site retail leadership experience (responsible for circa 50+ stores).
* Ability to energise, influence and motivate clusters to deliver exceptional service and performance with autonomy and respect.
* High emotional intelligence; self-reflection and openness to feedback.
* Strong operational delivery and ability to manage at pace in a fast-paced retail environment.
* Articulate, credible and engaging communicator at all levels of seniority.
* Organised, proactive, and capable of prioritising in a busy retail context.
* Experience managing the employee lifecycle from recruitment to ongoing performance development.
* Strong stakeholder management skills to influence with gravitas and conviction.
* Proven ability to motivate teams and build relationships, including remote teams.
