Overview
BHRUT is looking for an enthusiastic individual to fill the position of the Breast Lead Nurse. The Lead Nurse will have overall responsibility for the direction and development of the Breast Service at BHRUT. The post holder will work as an integral member of the Multidisciplinary Team within Barking Havering and Redbridge University Trust and will acknowledge and provide overall responsibility for the provision of specialist nursing advice and support to patients and families, in inpatient and outpatient settings, throughout their care pathway.
Responsibilities
* Manage a team of Breast Care Nurses and the Breast Outpatient Department.
* Provide clinical expertise, advice and skills to ensure the smooth running of the department and the delivery of high standards of care.
* Represent the service at regional and national Breast Cancer meetings.
* Lead and develop the Breast Service in line with Trust objectives and multidisciplinary team care pathways.
* Ensure safeguarding and promotion of welfare for children, young people and adults in line with the Trust procedures.
Qualifications and experience
* Registered nurse with substantial experience in breast care nursing and leadership/management responsibilities.
* Ability to lead a team, contribute to service development, and provide mentoring and education as part of the MDT.
* Commitment to high standards of patient care and safeguarding requirements.
