Are you a hands-on Financial Controller who thrives in a collaborative, small‑business environment? This is a broad, influential role where you'll be at the heart of the organisation, working closely with colleagues and stakeholders while overseeing the full finance function.
The RoleYou'll take ownership of all financial aspects of the Society, providing both strategic insight and practical delivery. While hybrid working is available, this role is primarily office‑based, reflecting the importance of collaboration with a wide range of internal teams.
What You'll Be Doing
1. Oversee financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting and internal controls
2. Deliver accurate analysis and insight to support business decisions
3. Act as the responsible finance contact for HR and H&S advisory services
4. Manage relationships with Insurance Brokers
5. Ensure compliance, strong governance and financial accuracy
6. Operate as a visible, engaged finance lead within a small organisation
What We're Looking For
7. ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified
8. 5+ years' experience in finance or accounting, including 2+ years in a supervisory/managerial role
9. Experience working in a small organisation with a varied, hands‑on remit
10. Strong technical accounting knowledge and financial control expertise
11. Advanced Excel skills and experience with accounting systems
12. Confident communicator, able to build relationships and influence at all levels
13. Detail‑focused, proactive and comfortable working under pressure
