Ashton Recruitment require a Quantity Surveyor for our client based in either their Belfast or Cookstown site. Position: Quantity Surveyor Location: Belfast/Cookstown Duration: Permanent Rate of Pay: Depended on experience Hours of Work: Full time This company is a long-established, family-run construction firm with offices across the UK and Ireland. Duties (not limited to): Analyse construction drawings and specifications to identify labour, material, and specialist requirements Preparation of enquiry documents, sourcing and obtaining material and subcontractor quotations including final negotiations and orders Negotiate with suppliers and subcontractors on a regular basis to ensure budgets are not exceeded Complete monthly sub-contractor valuations through to final account Complete monthly valuations to PQS and record all additional works items Liaise with clients to agree rates/variations and cost analysis Measure works as per contract specific schedule of rates Preparation and submission of interim valuations and final accounts within the agreed timescales Working closely with Management and Accounts to ensure accurate and vigorous cost management of the project to deliver a profitable outcome Provide accurate and robust monthly reports for Management and Client Progress Meetings Attend and participate in Site Progress Meetings Essential Criteria Ideally have Honours Degree in Quantity Surveying / Construction Management or in other related disciplines. Applicants with HND/HNC or strong construction related experience will also be considered for the role Experience in Estimating / Quantity Surveying role within a Main Contracting organisation for at least 2 years Be articulate, pro-active with excellent commercial acumen and communication skills and comfortable working with minimum supervision Be able to demonstrate initiative whilst working in a team environment Proficient in Microsoft packages including outlook, word, excel and project Ashton Recruitment is acting as a Recruitment Agency Skills: Quantity Surveying Cost Planning JCT Final Accounting Cost Reporting NEC Contracts Subcontracts Management
