About the role
Balfour Beatty has an exceptional opportunity for a Senior Planner to join our Major Projects team at our iconic Old Oak Common development in London.
HS2's new c. 1 billion Old Oak Common station will become the UK's best-connected rail station once completed. Our Balfour Beatty VINCI SYTRA joint venture will be responsible for the final design, construction, and commissioning of the station in Northwest London.
Upon completion, the new station will boast six underground platforms and up to eight platforms on the adjacent Great Western Main Line. Old Oak Common will also provide high-speed rail services to the Midlands, central London, Scotland, and the North, as well as direct services to three major airports. Incorporating passenger and retail facilities, the station will offer an exceptional customer experience for passengers and visitors.
As a Senior Planner, initially, you will work on the Public Realm packages, including hard and soft landscaping, drainage, architectural metal work, tree planting, and lighting. You will also handle procurement and tender review of all subcontract packages for the fit-out stage of the project.
What you'll be doing
Key responsibilities include:
* Producing plans and programmes for submission and reporting
* Managing Rail Systems interfaces and interfaces with MEP scope
* Process Mapping of works to System and geographical constraints
* Supporting Test & Commission programming
* Analyzing and optimizing labor resources and histograms
* Presenting/disseminating project programme philosophy and strategy
Who we're looking for
Requirements:
* Proficiency in planning software packages (P6 and others)
* Experience as a planner within the infrastructure industry
* Strong knowledge of NEC contract management
* Experience with MEP systems
* Engineering HNC or equivalent qualification
