Applicants must have a Degree or equivalent qualification in Social Care, enhanced Disclosure Barring Service check and be registered with Social Work England (or able to obtain registration prior to commencement of employment). Appropriate and relevant experience and post-qualification experience of children and families social work within a statutory, voluntary or independent sector organisation.

Services for children and families in Bromley have made a remarkable leap forward to Outstanding overall with services for children in care and care leavers showing strong progress and dedicated support. Our looked after children service supports young people aged 0-18 to achieve permanence. We are a fully permanent team and this is a rare opportunity given we experience low turnover of staff. We have prioritised keeping case-loads low to promote direct work and enable staff to build trusting relationships with children and young people. Ofsted reported in January 2024: "Social workers have caseloads that enable them to spend time with children, building trusting relationships". Bromley also run an exciting programme of group work events for the children we care for and encourage staff involvement at all levels. Bromley are seeking highly talented and ambitious registered Social Workers to join us on our journey to excellence. Bromley is committed to making children and young people in the Borough its top priority. The CLA Team are well supported by partners in other agencies such as Police, Youth Justice CAMHS, and a strong virtual school. Childrens Commissioning team are also embedded with the team to enable strong joint planning around placement choice. We have a bespoke handover to leaving care with joint work from young persons advisors from age 16. Our aims are to ensure our young people achieve a sense of stability and belonging in their reparative care setting that support a successful transition to adulthood.
