At One YMCA, we know that ending homelessness and rough sleeping requires more than simply providing a bed. Through our award-winning Dynamic Pathway to Independence model, we deliver person-centred support that empowers individuals to overcome challenges, build resilience, and achieve sustainable independence.
We are looking for a passionate and motivated Supported Housing Officer to join our Housing & Communities team and help support vulnerable people to rebuild their lives.
About the Role: You will provide high-quality housing-related support to residents who may have experienced homelessness, trauma, mental health challenges, substance misuse, offending histories, or other complex needs.
Working closely with residents, you will develop and deliver tailored support plans, helping them achieve goals relating to housing, health and wellbeing, education, employment, training, and independent living.
You will also work collaboratively with external agencies and professionals to ensure residents receive the support they need to progress successfully.
Key Responsibilities

• Develop and review support plans and risk assessments.
• Support residents to develop independent living skills and achieve personal goals.
• Promote health, wellbeing, and community engagement.
• Manage safeguarding concerns and make referrals where appropriate.
• Assist with housing management tasks, including occupancy, rent monitoring, and property inspections.
• Work closely with local authorities, support services, and partner agencies.
• Maintain accurate records and contribute to service performance targets.
You will have:
• Experience working with vulnerable people or those at risk of homelessness.
• Knowledge of homelessness, mental health, safeguarding, and support services.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
Strong organisational and IT skills.
• The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• A commitment to equality, diversity, inclusion, and person-centred support.
A qualification in housing, social care, or a related field is desirable but not essential. A current First Aid qualification, or willingness to undertake training, is required.
