About The Company:
We are a diversified mixed organic estate based in South Somerset, the main enterprise consisting of 800 dairy cows split over three dairies plus replacements.
The Job Role Details:
An opening has become available on our 300 cow all year-round calving unit for a herdsperson to work alongside the herd manager.
The farm is well invested with modern machinery and a 24/24 GEA milking parlour. We operate to the highest animal welfare standards and believe in keeping the farm clean and tidy.
Key Responsibilities:
You will…
* Work with the herd manager to ensure that all animal welfare protocols are being met.
* Ensure milking routine is being maintained and perform milking to a high standard.
* Keep the overall farm appearance tidy and audit ready
* Get involved with the Nutritionist and the Vets to ensure top herd performance.
* Identify and treat illnesses in a prompt manner
* Administer Vaccines
* Be willing to get involved in feeding and understand the Keenan PACE system (optional)
Ideal Person Skills & Qualifications:
You will have / be…
* Be able to work both independently and as a member of a small team
* Hold a full valid UK driving licence (required)
* Have a right to work in the UK (required)
* Good record keeper with Uniform agri software experience (required)
* AI qualification (preferred – but not essential)
* PACE Keenan Feeding (preferred – but not essential)

Additional information:
This is a permanent full-time position, working on a shift basis which includes weekend working, typically this will equate to a 5.5 day week average
