About The Role
We are recruiting for a Recovery Navigator at HMP Millsike. The Forward Trust delivers a range of drug and alcohol services within a prison environment, including advice, health and wellbeing, motivational work, clinical services, and group work and treatment programmes. Our services in prisons are commissioned by NHS England and delivered in partnership with primary healthcare providers and HMPPS. We aim to support individuals affected by substance use to create lasting change and reduce reoffending, homelessness, unemployment and dependency.
Role responsibilities include delivering a core Connections service as part of Forward Trusts Connections Team at HMP Millsike. The team focuses on creating a strong recovery ethos across the prison with emphasis on the Designated Desistance Wing/ISFL and related initiatives.

You will be part of a team of twenty staff and will receive a thorough induction at both organisational and service levels. Training provided includes eLearning and live workshops. You will receive training from the Prison to support you in feeling safe and confident in your responsibilities as a key holder.
All prison-based roles require enhanced DBS and HMPPS security vetting, which can take up to 3–6 weeks. Offers are subject to successful HMPPS vetting and DBS clearance.

Ideal Candidate
We are looking for passionate and committed individuals who can work alongside colleagues within the Connections Health and Wellbeing and Connections Family and Relationships service provision and across HMP Millsike to champion the supporting and sustaining recovery (SSR) model. SSR includes the Recovery Village model with stages for stabilisation/preparation, longer recovery programmes, and sustaining recovery (e.g., ISFL, Mutual Aid, Relapse Prevention, Employment).
