We are looking for an experienced Visual Arts Creative with a healthy track record of people and resource management experience built in a comparable customer-focused site or industry such as visitor attractions, museums, galleries, community arts, festivals or potentially, educational settings. You will possess an abundance of energy and will take a hands-on approach within the studio, leading the newly established team by example and delivering our activities to the highest standards expected by our customers. You believe in art's power to bring people together, and know how to deliver unforgettable customer experiences. You're organised, inclusive, and love motivating a team to do their best.
As the Studio Manager, you will be responsible for the smooth operation of our vibrant art venue, ensuring a high-quality experience for all visitors while leading and developing a passionate team. You will manage all aspects of site operations including visitor services, staff management, stock, bookings and events, and lead on the delivery of interactive art sessions.
Representing the directors, you will ensure that Splash Art Republic's company values are demonstrated across the venue. Job Requirements
What We're Looking For:
An energetic, experienced manager who will take a hands-on approach, leading the newly established team by example and delivering our activities to the highest standards expected by our customers.
Educated to Degree level in Fine Art or similar or A Level with an extremely strong personal artistic portfolio
Experience working in galleries, festivals, museums, education or arts venues
Experience managing people and resources in a customer-facing setting
Experience delivering or facilitating interactive art-based sessions
Excellent customer service and communication skills
Strong understanding of health & safety and safeguarding
Energetic, proactive, and highly organised
Committed to inclusion, diversity, and accessibility
Willing to work weekends and evenings as required
Familiarity with Birmingham's cultural sector
Experience in stock management, CRM/booking or digital marketing
Job Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
* Site & Visitor Management: Oversee daily operations ensuring a safe, welcoming, and inspiring environment for all.
* Staff Management: Recruit, train, supervise, and support a dynamic team; foster a culture of respect, inclusion, and enthusiasm.
* Session Leadership: Lead a range of creative sessions including splatter art, pour art, spin art, and sip & paint events.
* Customer Service: Deliver exceptional customer experiences and respond to feedback to drive continuous improvement.
* Bookings & Events: Manage individual and group bookings, including birthday parties, corporate sessions, and special events.
* Stock Control: Monitor and manage materials and equipment to ensure smooth operation and creative excellence.
* Partnership Development: Build relationships with local arts and leisure venues, networks, and community organisations.
* Marketing & Communications:With the support of head office, build brand recognition in Birmingham and promote our services.
