Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Support Worker to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality care to individuals in various settings, including care homes and nursing homes. Duties
As a Support Worker, your responsibilities will include:
* Assisting clients with daily living activities, including meal preparation and personal hygiene.
* Providing emotional support and companionship to enhance the well-being of clients.
* Administering medication as prescribed and ensuring compliance with care plans.
* Supporting individuals with dementia through behaviour management techniques.
* Assisting with heavy lifting when necessary, ensuring the safety and comfort of clients during transfers.
* Driving clients to appointments or social activities as required.
* Collaborating with healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care delivery.
* Maintaining accurate records of client progress and any changes in condition.
Experience
The successful candidate should possess:
* Previous experience in a similar role within a care home or nursing home setting is preferred.
* Knowledge of dementia care practices and hospice care principles is advantageous.
* A background in nursing or relevant healthcare qualifications will be considered an asset.
* Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with clients and their families.
* A compassionate nature and a genuine desire to help others improve their quality of life.
