As a Maintenance Technician at our Huddersfield site, you will be a key hands‑on technical resource responsible for ensuring equipment reliability, supporting safe operations, and helping to reduce downtime across the facility. You will work closely with engineering, operations, and external partners to deliver high‑quality maintenance, repairs, and plant inspections. Key Responsibilities Carry out repairs on electrical and mechanical equipment and provide reactive maintenance support. Plan, execute, and improve the preventative maintenance schedule using the site’s CMMS. Conduct routine inspections, maintenance tasks, and technical engineering activities. Support alarm and trip systems and contribute to vessel inspection programmes. Coordinate and oversee external contractors (e.g., lift engineers, gas detection, industrial doors). Provide basic training to production staff on equipment operation and maintenance. Deputise for the Engineering Manager in their absence. Support small to medium engineering projects as required. Qualifications & Experience Time‑served Electrician with mechanical experience. HNC qualification or equivalent in an electrical discipline. City & Guilds BS 7671 (18th Edition). Certificate in Inspection, Testing & Certification of Electrical Installations. Minimum 5 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment. Strong teamwork, communication skills, and a proactive, solution‑oriented mindset. Willingness to provide occasional out‑of‑hours support.
