1. Interim Finance Business Partner - Local Government (Devon)
2. Devon (Predominantly Remote)
3. 6-9 Month Contract | Immediate Start
4. Day Rate: Up to £300 per day
Hays are working in partnership with a reputable Local Government organisation in the Devon area to recruit an experienced Interim Finance Business Partner to support key service areas during a busy period of change and transformation.
This is a critical role, and previous Local Government experience is essential to ensure you can quickly embed within the team and provide effective financial support in a regulated public sector environment.
Key Responsibilities:
5. Acting as a Finance Business Partner to service managers, providing financial insight, challenge, and support
6. Leading on budget setting, forecasting, and financial planning processes
7. Delivering accurate and timely financial reporting, including variance analysis and commentary
8. Supporting senior stakeholders with decision-making through robust financial analysis
9. Identifying financial risks and opportunities and developing mitigation strategies
10. Supporting transformation initiatives and driving value for money across services
11. Ensuring compliance with Local Government financial regulations and reporting requirements
About You:
12. Fully or part-qualified accountant (ACCA, CIMA, ACA or equivalent)
13. Essential: Proven experience within Local Government finance
14. Strong background in business partnering and stakeholder engagement
15. Excellent analytical skills with the ability to translate financial data into meaningful insight
16. Confident communicator, capable of influencing senior non-finance stakeholders
17. Experience working in complex, fast-paced public sector environments
18. Strong Excel skills; experience with Local Authority finance systems is advantageous
The Offer:
19. Immediate start with a contract likely to run for 6-9 months
20. Predominantly remote working, with occasional on-site presence in Devon
