Purpose of the role:

The Land Referencer supports major infrastructure and regeneration projects by ensuring accurate land referencing, statutory compliance, and stakeholder engagement, delivering high-quality land and property data for land acquisition, compulsory purchase, and planning consents.

Key Accountabilities & Job Overview:

* Applying robust land referencing methodologies to demonstrate diligent enquiry before public consultation and application submission
* Handling Requests for Information (RFIs) and Land Interest Questionnaires (LIQs)
* Interpreting complex Land Registry titles
* Managing land data
* Producing statutory compliant Books of Reference and CPO Schedules
* Creating Land Plans, Order Plans, Deposited Plans, and Rights of Way Plans
* Securing land access for surveys
* Managing statutory acquisition notices such as Notices to Treat, Notices of Entry, Notices of Intention, and General Vesting Declarations
* Reporting notice returns
* Preparing, placing, and monitoring site notices using mobile technology
* Representing experts at hearings or Public Inquiries
* Developing bespoke plans for Land & Works Agreements
* Supporting through the Optioneering process

Knowledge, Experience & Skills Required:

* Degree in a relevant field, e.g., Geography, Geospatial Science, Estate or Property Management, or Planning
* Excellent attention to detail
* Ability to follow instructions within tight deadlines with minimal supervision
* Effective communication skills (verbal and written)
* Understanding of handling confidential information
* Strong prioritization skills
* Teamwork and delegation abilities
* A positive attitude towards learning new skills and systems
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel)
* Understanding of Land Registry title plans and registers
* Knowledge of Compulsory Purchase legislation
* Familiarity with GIS systems
* Full driving license
