The University of Lincoln is pleased to announce three prestigious EPSRC Postdoctoral Pathway Fellowships, designed as strategic steppingstones to retain exceptional talent and provide opportunities for recent PhD graduates to establish independent research careers. These 6-month fellowships (November 2025 - April 2026) offer a crucial bridge for promising researchers to develop their careers while remaining embedded within our vibrant research community.
Fellowship Details
* Duration: 6 months (November 2025 - April 2026)
* Appointment Level: Post Doctoral Research Assistant (PDRA)

Fellowship Categories
* Robotics and AI Fellowship (1 position available) – Strategically aligned with our EPSRC-funded Doctoral Programmes (AgriFoRwArdS Centre for Doctoral Training and Doctoral Training Partnership).
Research Areas include Autonomous Systems and robotic platforms; Agricultural Robotics and precision agriculture technologies; Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning applications; Computer Vision and sensor integration for agricultural applications; Human-Robot Interaction in agricultural contexts; Robotic Perception and environmental monitoring
* EPSRC General Fellowship (2 positions available) – Open competition for any EPSRC-funded PhD graduate (internal or external candidates). Broader interdisciplinary approach welcoming diverse talent from across engineering and physical sciences.
Research Areas include any research area within EPSRC's remit across engineering and physical sciences; interdisciplinary approaches; alignment with UK Government priorities; cross-disciplinary collaboration; emerging technologies and innovative methodologies

Application Requirements
You must submit a comprehensive research proposal developed in collaboration with a Lincoln-based supervisor. The proposal should constitute a new and discrete body of work that progresses and exploits the outcomes of your doctoral research – this is extension funding, not continuation of PhD research. Prior to applying, discussions regarding the planned research proposal must be held with a University of Lincoln academic staff member who is willing to act as the Fellowship Supervisor and host the project within their department.

Eligibility Criteria
Essential Requirements:
* PhD Thesis Submission: Must have submitted thesis through an EPSRC funded PhD programme between 1 January 2024 and 1 October 2025
* EPSRC Alignment: Research must be predominantly within EPSRC's remit
* Supervisor Commitment: Must have secured support from a Lincoln-based supervisor before application
* Thesis Status: Thesis must be submitted before fellowship commencement (October 2025)
