A global manufacturing business is seeking a 100% mechanically biased Shift Mechanical Engineer to join their production engineering team. This is a hands-on maintenance role supporting high-speed manufacturing and packaging operations in a fast-paced environment.
This role is ideal for a practical, technically strong mechanical engineer who enjoys fault finding, machine repair, and supporting production reliability.
The Role
Working on a Panama shift pattern, you will be responsible for delivering both planned and reactive mechanical maintenance across automated production equipment.
You will play a key role in reducing downtime, improving equipment reliability and supporting continuous improvement across the site.
Key Responsibilities
* Carry out mechanical maintenance across production and manufacturing equipment
* Diagnose and repair mechanical faults on automated, high-speed machinery
* Support planned preventative maintenance (PPM) programmes
* Respond to breakdowns quickly to minimise production disruption
* Carry out strip-down, rebuild and component replacement work
* Support reliability and process improvement activities
* Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation
* Work in line with site safety and quality standards
About You
We are looking for a strong, hands-on mechanical engineer with experience working in production or manufacturing environments.
Essential
* Strong mechanical engineering background (fully mechanical bias)
* Experience working in manufacturing, FMCG or high-volume production environments
* Proven mechanical fault-finding skills
* Experience with planned and reactive maintenance
* Comfortable working shift patterns
Desirable
* Experience with automated production machinery
* Knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics and mechanical drive systems
* Continuous improvement or reliability exposure
