Working with a hands‑on approach, the IT Engineering Apprentice will undertake a structured apprenticeship in IT engineering, leading to a nationally recognised qualification and accreditation. The apprentice will gain practical operational experience across the IT function, supporting our global user base and contributing to CDE projects while developing skills in data, cyber security, business processes, testing and software development practices.
On successful completion of the apprenticeship, opportunities may exist to progress further into Junior Business Systems Engineer, Service Desk Analyst, Junior Infrastructure Engineer, Junior Data Engineer or further Higher-Level Apprenticeships, depending on performance and business needs.
About The Role
Responsibilities:
Practical Learning & Development
· Undertake an apprenticeship programme in Computing, completing all coursework, assessments, and practical requirements to achieve qualification and accreditation.
· Gain hands-on operational experience by assisting our IT team on CDE projects.
* Learn and develop general IT support skills
Business System Tasks
· Develop solutions within our best of breed ERP, CRM and PLM systems
· Assist with end user testing and training
· Develop AI solutions
· Grow our IOT and smartech solutions
· Develop our data warehouse and analytical reports
· Carry out all support and development activities in a responsible and structured manner, maintaining a secure and robust IT environment.
· Work collaboratively with Engineers, Technicians, Project Teams and support functions to deliver high-quality solutions.
· Carry out reasonable requests from the line manager to support departmental or company objectives.
Infrastructure Tasks
* Provide Technical Support for Windows, Azure, Office365 and other computer software installations
* Contribute to our cyber security stance and work with market leading Cyber Security solutions to protect our business data
* Manage the distribution and setup of hardware and software for company devices
* Manage our support tickets within SLAs while maintaining a high degree of customer service
