Salary: £40,000 - 70,000 per year Requirements: We are looking for a strong commercial background in server-side Java within low-latency or performance-critical environments. We require demonstrable experience in electronic trading or other market-facing systems. You should have a solid understanding of low-latency system design and optimisation. We expect experience with Linux, ideally Red Hat. You should have experience with Linux kernel tuning and performance optimisation. You should have experience with containers such as Docker, Kubernetes, or similar. You should have a good understanding of networking concepts relevant to trading systems. Experience working with front-office execution or trading desks is highly desirable. Exposure to algorithmic trading platforms is a plus. Understanding of market microstructure is highly desirable. Responsibilities: We design, build, and enhance low-latency Java-based trading and execution applications. We contribute to algorithmic execution platforms across multiple asset classes. We collaborate closely with quants and trading desks to implement and evolve execution strategies. We optimise system performance, determinism, and stability. We develop and deploy services within containerised environments. We maintain and enhance systems running on physical infrastructure in co-location data centres. We participate in code reviews, architectural discussions, and production support as required. We work across Fixed Income, FX, and Futures execution technology in a front-office, market-facing environment.
