Mendip Vale Medical Group is seeking additional Patient Co-ordinators to join our Coniston team as we expand our friendly and innovative practices serving over 85,000 patients across 10 sites in North Somerset, Bristol, and South Gloucestershire.
As a Patient Co-ordinator, your role will involve assisting and signposting patients to the most appropriate service or healthcare professional in a courteous, efficient, and effective manner.
Main Duties
Working within a team, you will help direct patients to suitable services or healthcare professionals, manage patient expectations, and communicate relevant information proactively between patients and healthcare providers.
You will develop strong working relationships with:
* GPs, nurses, and other surgery staff
Key Responsibilities
* Support the Patient Services Manager in delivering safe and efficient responses to patient needs.
* Be the first point of contact in our telephone hub for patient inquiries and appointment bookings.
* Book appointments via telephone and at reception using a computerized system.
* Handle letter scanning, filing, clerical updates (e.g., address changes), and form completion.
* Create and maintain accurate patient records.
* Control all patient files and related administrative tasks in line with quality standards, information governance, GDPR, and DPA regulations.

* Scheduling appointments using a computerized system.
* Performing administrative duties such as letter scanning, filing, and updating patient information.
* Creating new patient records and ensuring all files meet quality and compliance standards.
Person Specification
Experience
* Experience in reception or customer service roles.
* Experience with reception and administrative duties within primary care.
* Familiarity with patient record systems (e.g., EMIS).
Qualifications
* GCSEs in English and Maths at Grade C or above, or equivalent experience.
* Evidence of ongoing personal development in relevant fields.
* NVQ Level 3 in Administration or equivalent, or working towards it.
