About the Direct Payment Holder
A 6-year-old boy living in Hatfield is looking for two Personal Assistants to provide support at home and in the community. She is non-verbal and has global developmental delay. She enjoys being active, playing, and exploring, and requires patient and consistent support to help her thrive
Hours and rate of pay
Hours (Term-time): (2 weekdays plus Saturday)
Hours (School holidays): (days to be discussed)
Location
Hatfield, AL10
DBS/Checks
Confirmation of DBS check
Right to Work and references will be needed.
Training
Training will be offered to enable to complete the mandatory training required:
* Safeguarding Children
* Introduction to first aid / Paediatric first aid
* Health and Safety / Moving and handling
What you would be doing…
The role involves taking her to the playground, going for walks, and engaging her in fun and stimulating activities such as magnets, Play-Doh, colouring, tracing letters, and messy play. She does not have a physical disability, can feed herself, and only requires assistance with toileting and toilet training.
Supporting with play-based activities at home and in the community
Encouraging learning through play (colouring, tracing, arts and crafts)
Assisting with toileting and toilet training
Providing safe supervision at all times
Supporting outings such as walks and visits to the playground
Required skills and experience
Experience of working with children with special needs
Patient, kind, and firm when required
Able to encourage and engage a child through play and structured activities
Reliable and consistent, with a caring approach
