Job Title: Sideloader Operative
Working Hours: Monday - Friday,Operative working either 6am-3pm or 9am-6pm.
Salary: £14- £14.50
Key Responsibilities:
Picking and Packing: Accurately selecting and packing various metal items according to order specifications, ensuring they are ready for dispatch.
Labelling and checking quantityof stock and filling in paperwork.
Operating warehouse machinery, in particular the Counterbalance Forklift. (preferred not essential)
Following Instructions: Adhering to, order details, and general warehouse procedures.
Teamwork and Independence: Working effectively both as part of a team to achieve common goals and independently when required to complete individual tasks.
General Warehouse Duties: Undertaking a range of warehouse tasks to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the facility. This includes maintaining tidiness, organizing stock, and other related duties.
Heavy Lifting: Performing tasks that may involve some heavy lifting of metal items, up to 25kg.
Communication: Maintaining excellent communication skills to interact effectively with colleagues and follow instructions accurately.
Safety Awareness: Adhering to all health and safety regulations and procedures within the warehouse environment.
Use the Forklift in a safe and efficient way- adhering to safety guidelines and instructions.
Qualifications and Experience:
Essential: Sideloader or Combi Forklift Licence
Preferred: Warehouse experience.
Skills and Abilities: Excellent attention to detail and accuracy when picking, packing, and labelling stock.
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Good physical fitness and the ability to undertake some heavy lifting.
Strong communication skills and the ability to understand and follow instructions.
A proactive and reliable work ethic.
Other Requirements:
Essential: Own transport due to the company's location on the outskirts of Reading (RG7)
Flexibility: A willingness to undertake a variety of warehouse tasks as required.
