Midday Learning Support Assistant
Location: Chesterfield
Salary: £95 - £100 Per Day (Depending on Experience)
Start Date: September 2025
Contract Type: Day-to-Day/Long Term, Full-time/Part-time
Do you have a nurturing and calm approach to supporting children with special educational needs?
If so, GSL Education are looking to appoint a dedicated and caring Midday Learning Support Assistant for a September 2025 start in Chesterfield. This position is ideal for someone with experience in SEN settings who is seeking a flexible role during school hours.
As a Midday Learning Support Assistant (Midday LSA), you will play a vital role in ensuring the safety, care, and inclusion of pupils with SEN during their midday breaks. Working alongside teaching and support staff, you will help maintain a structured and supportive environment both in the dining hall and during playground activities.
What you have to do as a Midday Learning Support Assistant:
* Supervise children with SEN during lunch and break times.
* Provide one-to-one or small group care and support.
* Promote safe and positive play experiences.
* Support with personal care where required.
* Monitor and encourage appropriate social interactions.
* Work collaboratively with teaching assistants and SEN staff.
* Record and report observations to teaching staff.
* Ensure pupils feel secure, listened to, and valued during unstructured times.
Midday LSA Requirements:
* Experience working with children, ideally in SEN or pastoral support or as Midday Learning Support Assistant roles.
* CACHE Level 2/3 or NVQ Level 2/3 in Teaching Assistant or Childcare.
* A degree in Psychology, Education or a similar field.
* A calm, patient, and understanding manner.
* Must be a driver and have a full UK driving licence – essential for travelling between sites.
* Enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to obtain one.
