Children’s Residential Support Worker - Public Sector Location: Leeds, West Yorkshire Contract Type: Full-Time, Permanent Hours: 37 hours per week (shift-based, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and bank holidays) Salary: £27,000 – £35,000 per annum (inclusive of sleep-in allowance) We are excited to offer a rewarding opportunity for a dedicated Children’s Residential Support Worker to join our team. This role is pivotal in providing high-quality care and support to children and young people in Public Sector residential homes, focusing on promoting safety, emotional wellbeing, and positive development. Day-to-Day Responsibilities: Deliver individualised care that meets the social, emotional, and physical needs of children and young people. Build and maintain positive, trusting relationships with children and young people. Support children who may present challenging behaviour in a safe and therapeutic manner. Work collaboratively with the Registered Manager, Senior Staff, and Care Officers to ensure consistent care delivery. Promote children’s participation in leisure, cultural, and educational activities. Encourage healthy lifestyles and support children in developing independence and life skills. Maintain accurate records and contribute to care planning and reviews. Uphold safeguarding procedures and report concerns appropriately. Required Skills & Qualifications: Essential: Experience working with children or young people in a care, education, or support setting. Ability to form positive relationships and communicate effectively. Understanding of safeguarding and child protection principles. Flexibility to work shifts, including weekends and sleep-ins. Commitment to promoting equality, diversity, and inclusion. Desirable: NVQ Level 3 in Children and Young People or equivalent qualification.
