Are you experienced with Contract Management and looking to expand your career into large Motorways, Highways, or Infrastructure projects? If you have experience as a Contracts Manager, this role might be for you. We are currently seeking two Contracts Managers for the South East & East Anglia regions to work on a strategic project essential for operational production and business growth. You will provide leadership, guidance, and direction to achieve objectives related to Tarmac's Smart Motorways initiatives.
As Contracts Manager, you will ensure the team maximizes financial returns, maintains full compliance with safety and business policies, and promotes effective resource allocation and best practices across the Business Area.
Main Responsibilities
1. Deliver first-class customer service, drive efficiency, and maximize financial returns.
2. Plan, manage, and problem-solve to drive performance and innovation.
3. Coordinate multidisciplinary teams with expertise in construction methodologies.
4. Lead and ensure delivery of the Smart Motorways Strategy.
5. Contribute to increasing turnover and securing long-term work pipelines.
6. Develop and implement commercial strategies supporting business objectives.
7. Identify and secure strategic opportunities to meet volume, margin, and growth targets.
8. Ensure operational activities comply with safety and policy standards within budget.
9. Manage financial and contractual risks, ensuring prompt cash collection.
10. Collaborate with supply chain to reduce delays and costs.
11. Drive performance improvements and share best practices across projects.
12. Resolve contract disputes to maximize profit and cash flow.
13. Leverage internal resources to increase RONA and contribute upstream.
14. Identify risks and opportunities within contracts and develop management strategies.
Key stakeholders include Tarmac & CRH Management Teams, Operations Managers, Finance, Contractors, Supply Chain, Engineers, HR, and Project Teams.
You must hold a full UK manual driving license with no more than 6 penalty points.
The Ideal Candidate
Experience in Construction, Highways, or Surfacing industries is essential, with knowledge of roads or highways surfacing being highly beneficial. The candidate should have an analytical mindset and excellent organizational skills. Qualifications such as HNC/HND or a related Degree are advantageous. Certifications like NEBOSH or IOSH are desirable. Management experience on large-scale operational, construction, or heavy engineering projects is preferred. The role covers the South East & East Anglia regions, requiring travel across these areas.
