Southampton City Council is looking for a Marketing Executive to join our Marketing and Communications team, supporting our three cultural venues: Southampton City Art Gallery, SeaCity Museum and Tudor House & Garden.
This is an exciting opportunity to help put arts, culture and heritage at the heart of Southampton’s story and to grow audiences, engagement and income across our museums and galleries revenue streams.
About The Role
You will be a core member of the council’s Marketing and Communications team, while working closely day‑to‑day with Museums and Art Gallery colleagues. Your role will focus on planning and delivering creative, audience‑led marketing activity that supports a broad range of museum and gallery initiatives including exhibitions, events, learning programmes and commercial activity.
You will lead on social media and content creation, manage venue online marketing channels, produce email and website content, coordinate distribution of print, support advertising and campaign evaluation. Alongside this the role also contributes to research, development and reporting.
Varied and hands‑on the role is based day‑to‑day from SeaCity and the Civic Centre, but will involve on‑site working across the three venues, and occasional evening and weekend working to support events and campaigns.
About You
We are seeking a pro‑active, creative, organised and confident individual who can manage multiple projects in a fast‑paced environment. You’ll enjoy working both strategically and hands‑on, and be passionate about engaging people with arts, culture and heritage. A strong communicator you will have great team working skills to work collaboratively with colleagues, partners and agencies.
