Business Development Manager – Travel & Tour Operator
London – Hybrid (3 days in office)
£45,000–£55,000 + uncapped commission
We are looking for a commercially driven, entrepreneurial Business Development Manager with experience in pre-paid card sales and the travel sector to lead new business growth for our client in the travel and tour operator space. This role is highly outbound-focused and sits at the intersection of sales, commercial strategy, and client engagement. You will play a key role in generating pipeline, closing deals, and expanding the use of card-based spend management solutions for tour operators, travel management companies, and education travel providers.

What You’ll Own
Pipeline & Outbound Sales
* Identify, engage, and qualify prospects across the travel and tour operator sector
* Build outbound sequences via LinkedIn, email, phone, and events
* Research and prioritise accounts based on fit and opportunity
Consultative Selling
* Conduct discovery calls to understand operational pain points in fund distribution, expense management, and multi-currency travel spend
* Position pre-paid card solutions to solve real client challenges
* Navigate objections and communicate roadmap vision for evolving products
Closing & Revenue Generation
* Manage the full sales cycle from first touch to signed contract
* Negotiate commercial terms and onboard new clients successfully
Market & Product Strategy
* Provide feedback and market intelligence to leadership and product teams
* Help refine ideal customer profiles, messaging, and sector strategy
* Experiment with AI and sales tools to improve prospecting and engagement efficiency
What We’re Looking For
* Proven experience in B2B sales within the travel sector, ideally with pre-paid card solutions
* Track record of outbound prospecting and pipeline generation
* Strong consultative selling skills, able to understand complex workflows and operational pain points
* Resilient, entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to thrive in ambiguity
* Commercially savvy, able to structure deals and understand client financial drivers
* Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
* Curious and adaptable with AI or modern sales technology
