Role Summary
Business Analysts in DMS Digital play a vital role in supporting the design of technology solutions for a diverse range of internal and external clients. Business Analysts gather detailed problem, process and solution requirements as inputs to the design process while creating detailed reference documentation for use throughout the project lifecycle. Following design, Business Analysts provide essential testing and validation support to ensure that the final solution meets not only the original requirements but also the quality standards of DMS Digital.

Accountabilities & Responsibilities
Data Gathering
Working alongside DMS Digital Senior Business Analysts, Solution Architects and other stakeholders gathering detailed information about the problems that clients are seeking to solve through technology.
Process Documentation
Creating detailed Level 3 or Level 4 documentation about a client’s process that is to be automated or supported by a technology solution. This may include working alongside a client SME to work through a process step by step to gather sufficient information to enable requirements to be derived.
Requirements Definition
Based on all information gathered and documented, creating a comprehensive list of functional and non-functional requirements for a technology solution to address the identified business need.
Business Case Definition
Working alongside a Senior Business Analyst and using all information gathered, developing a financial business case for the implementation of a technology solution to address the client’s business needs.
Document Review
Performing peer and formal reviews of project documentation that may include requirements, design, test or handover documents.
Content Validation
Accountable for quality review of incoming content, often of a complex regulatory or technical nature, from third party providers prior to consumption by downstream technology solutions. Accountable, similarly, for the quality review of content output from content processing, aggregation and analysis systems.
Test Planning
Working closely with DMS Digital Engineers, DMS Digital Senior Engineers and DMS Digital Solution Architects to design functional testing of new, changed or onboarding systems to validate compliance with design specifications and DMS Digital standards.
Test Execution
Accountable for the execution of functional testing against agreed Test Plans across a range of technology solutions include RPA, software systems and applications, including those being developed or changed by DMS Digital and those developed outside DMS Digital and onboarding to DMS Digital for support.
System & Tool Configuration
Assisting with the setup, configuration and administration of a range of technology solutions during development, testing, operational readiness or during operational support.
Assisting Level 1 and Level 2 Technical Support
Working closely with DMS Digital Engineers to provide subject matter expertise when functional or quality issues are being addressed.
General Documentation
Creation of a variety of documents using DMS Digital templates as part of all quality assurance, monitoring, support, development, testing or deployment activities.
Principles and Standards
Contributing to the ongoing development and review of technical principles and standards applicable to technical assessment, review, design, build, support and quality assurance activities in DMS Digital.
Best Practice
Contributing to the ongoing development and review of best practice guidance and instruction across all engineering activities undertaken within DMS Digital. This activity to be undertaken in collaboration with colleagues across Deloitte and in line with general industry recommendations.
Technical Subject Matter Expertise
Providing, as required, technical insight and expertise in areas of knowledge to DMS Digital colleagues and DMS Digital projects. This may include work on a variety of internal or external initiatives.
Internal Relationships
Accountable and Responsible for developing and improving relationships with engineering and related functions across Deloitte in support of shared standards and DMS Digital activities.
Risk Management
Supporting the development, maintenance, improvement and management of risk controls pertaining to the activities of solution architecture within DMS Digital.
