An incredible opportunity has arisen for an experienced and motivated Head Veterinary Surgeon to lead a thriving, forward‑thinking team at a state‑of‑the‑art practice in Barnsley. Purpose‑built, light, and spacious, the surgery is fully equipped with the latest technology to deliver outstanding veterinary care. The practice’s mission is simple yet powerful to create an environment where colleagues love to work, patients feel calm, and clients leave reassured.

With a supportive team that currently includes 4 talented RVNs, 2 Veterinary Surgeons, and a new graduate vet joining soon, collaboration and development are at the heart of everything they do. One of the current vets has a passion for exotics, while another is refining her imaging expertise ensuring a stimulating and varied caseload every day. The practice also takes great pride in nurturing new talent, having welcomed several former students into permanent positions after qualification.
As Head Veterinary Surgeon, you will lead from the front, driving clinical excellence, inspiring your colleagues, and helping to shape a culture of continuous improvement. You’ll have the autonomy to set and uphold the highest standards of care, support professional development within the team, and work closely with the management team to achieve strategic goals. The Rota
* Full time position
* 4 day week
* 1:4 weekends
* No OOH rota but may be some on call if you have overnight patients
